Best Shure SRH1540 Memorial Day Sale 2023 & Deals – What to Expect

Between now and Memorial Day in 2023, I’ve produced a list of the best deals you can get on Shure SRH1540 headphones. The Shure SRH1540 are full-size, circumaural, sealed headphones, about as large as headphones get. High-quality building supplies are made from a variety of synthetics, carbon fiber, aluminum, and steel. The packaging on the tins is totally sick.

For comfort, thin padding supports two metal rings covered in protein leather. After dismantling a piece of the headband, I studied the metal arches that cross over the top of your head and determined that they are made of stainless steel (they also don’t appear to be magnetically attracting), which was quite unexpected given how easily the arches flex. I’ll explain in a second.

Shure SRH1540 Premium Passive Noise Cancelling now in $499 @ Micro Center

The Shure SRH1540 is the best passive noise-cancelling headset you can buy if you’re an audiophile. These headphones’ closed-back design and passive noise cancellation technologies help you tune out the world and focus on the music. They’re great for extended listening sessions thanks to their portability, comfort, and ergonomic design. In case you’re looking for high-quality headphones, Micro Center is currently selling the Shure SRH1540 for only $499.

The Shure SRH1540 headphones are made with lightweight materials like aircraft-grade aluminum alloy yokes, Alcantara-covered ear pads, and carbon fiber enclosure end caps. All of the flashy parts have been properly constructed, and the whole package feels solid. The headphones’ ear cups may be made of plastic, but they nonetheless look and feel expensive. The cord itself is incredibly silky and comfortable to the touch. The headphones have a backup cable and ear cushion included, and their durable carrying case has a dedicated space for each component in the unlikely event that one becomes broken.

According to Shure, the SRH1540’s “steel driver frame with vented center pole piece increases linearity and minimizes internal resonance.” Our measurements almost seldom agree with a headphone manufacturer’s advertising claims, but the SRH1540 is an exception.

Shure’s SRH1540 headphones have the flattest sound signature of any closed-back studio headphones we’ve tested. You can expect nothing less from a top-of-the-line version. However, the SRH1540 has better low-end extension and more polished highs, making it the clear winner. Except for the spike at 100 Hz, most of the inaccuracies can be safely disregarded. The response is quite flat from 170 Hz to 17 kHz, varying by only +/- 3 dB. Among all the closed-backs we’ve tested, only the now-defunct Oppo PM-3 and the aforementioned Shure SRH840 come close to having a flat frequency response.
